When the sea spits you out

by

Mitali

She has vacationed a moment too long.
Spent months trying to meditate on
beach fronts and foreign promenades with her eyes

spiraled shut. And at first the sea was inviting.
Unfurling, it called to the sky to play act father.

She knew it was all temporal. As everything on this earth is.
But when the sea spit her out, she didn’t know anymore
how to match the pace of her walk.

Parts of her still live in astral. Silent,

liberated.
