with global greenhouse gas emissions climbing, we challenged writers across the world to send us poetry examining how human activity affects the ocean. they gave us their drowning islands, their melting glaciers, their bleached coral. they gave us their hurricanes, their flooding, their erosion. they gave us their seasick. these are the seven poems selected as winners of the contest.
